The Little Mermaid +manga13+

Hokay, so... this is one of the amateur manga I worked on throughout high school, and a few days between now and when high school ended for me. I don't plan on finishing it. >_>

This is kind of a doujinshi, kind of not. (Say what?? >_<;; ) It's kind of doujinshi because I took Rurouni Kenshin characters and threw them into The Little Mermaid. So I took Kamiya Kaoru and turned her into the little mermaid. *gahhhhh* And I took Himura Kenshin and turned him into the prince. And Yukishiro Tomoe is now the girl who rescues Kenshin on the beach (after mermaid Kaoru drops him off)--although in this manga Tomoe-san was also a mermaid at one point, and she too longed to see the surface world. She turned into a human and became the adopted daughter of a really well-to-do family in the town. Or something. And yeah I took her psychotic little brother Yukishiro Enishi as well, and made him into the guy who comes at the very end of The Little Mermaid story and tries to kill Kenshin-sama with a dagger. And Kaoru saves Kenshin-sama and turns to foam. The end.

*crickets chirp*

Of course, I never got as far as Kaoru even going up to the surface. I only drew these off and on during classes in high school. For me, the best time to draw was always during class. Don't ask me why. >_> So when high school ended, I pretty much dropped the project.

I'm submitting it now because I'd like to share the cheesiness that was my manga style. Emphasis on the 'was', please. T_T;

Hehe. Back in the day, before all this newfangled technology, I actually colored with acrylic paints.... ^_^

That's Enishi without his glasses (and before he goes insane!!!) as a merman, and just generally looking fine. Very fine. Mmmredeyes. :-9

I haven't scanned in the rest of the pages yet, but I'll do that tomorrow when I have more time. Anyway after these two pages shown here, I stopped and didn't pick up the sketchbook for another three months.
