Colored version of [link]

I admit I have no idea how to use proper watercolor painting technique. >_< I used it like I was painting with acrylic. :iconruncryplz:

Fiddled with in Photoshop, played with curves and color balance.

From left to right: Giddon, Po, Katsa, and Raffin.

Graceling belongs to Kristin Cashore :)

I just got it half an hour ago at the library...I'm going to read it tonight! :la: I also got the third book, Bitterblue, but I might not get to that one until this weekend.

Ooh sorry for the late reply xD I was away from the internet for a while there haha! Anyway--AWESOME!! I know you'll love it! I actually haven't read Bitterblue yet, I heard mixed reviews... please let me know what you think though ovo And... are you going to do fanart for the series?! :la:

aaaand darn it. Turns out my library doesn't have Bitterblue after all. I don't exactly have money to burn at the moment, so I guess I'll have to wait and borrow it from someone else. Might be awhile before I read it ^^;

I really liked Fire! You were right...it was SO different from Graceling, but equally enjoyable. It was almost like Kristin Cashore took the idea of a "super beautiful Mary Sue" to its logical conclusion, and showed how miserable it would be if you were actually so physically attractive that everyone went after you. The 2nd half of the book was especially good; the author acknowledged so many sad, simple truths of wartime in particular and the human condition in general. She has such a knack for capturing the pain and sadness of love and the fear of losing the people you care about. I also think Cashore is great at writing child characters; often times in fantasy books the kids annoy me, but Bitterblue from Graceling and Brigan's daughter from Fire were both very likeable (and baby Leck was appropriately terrifying).
I'll let you know what I think of Bitterblue after I finish. I'm not sure about fanart for the series...for some reason I often imagine characters looking different from how they are described in the text, so it's difficult for me to draw them without irritating other fans ^^;
